“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” — Acts 2:41

It’s quite astonishing to read the account of Apostle Peter as contained in the Bible text above — he preached to a multitude and was able to win about three thousand of them to Jesus Christ in just one day!

No doubt heaven would have been thrown into a frenzy on that day given its promise to rejoice over the repentance of a single soul (Luke 15:7).

Soul winning — converting unbelievers to Jesus Christ through repentance — is a fundamental requirement of the Christian faith. No wonder the Bible describes it as the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Though known as the great commission, unfortunately, many believers struggle with keeping to the dictates of the charge. This apparent disservice to the kingdom of God can be attributed to the reasons below (amongst many others):

  • A lack of personal conviction of salvation experience. There’s a popular saying that, “you can’t give what you don’t have”. That is, until you become fully aware of your identity in Jesus Christ, your attempts at soul winning will continue to be futile.
  • Indulgence in sin. The Bible describes sin as a reproach, capable of limiting your soul winning efforts (Proverbs 14:34) .
  • An unworthy lifestyle. A life style that’s at variance with Jesus Christ cannot be emulated by unbelievers.

Unlike in the days of Apostle Peter, preaching the message of salvation to unbelievers — a key ingredient for soul winning — nowadays has become so easy. Thanks to the digital dispensation that we now all live in. That is, with the internet at your fingertip, you’re now able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to millions of people all around the world via methods such as:

  • SMS/Email via (un)paid targeted evangelism campaigns.
  • Social Media Platforms via the likes of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp etc.
  • Televangelism via TV or radio channels or programs dedicated to the reach of unbelievers globally.

Make a conscious effort to win a soul for Jesus Christ today and start by sharing this bulletin.
