NOT FORSAKEN

GOD NEVER FORGETS

Have you ever been through a life experience and pondered the question “Has God perhaps forgotten me?”. Well, you’re not alone.

At different moments in life, we get encumbered with many challenges, and sometimes it feels like God is so far away. But the good news is, He isn’t. In fact, He’s ever near to us more than we can ever imagine.

Even though Joseph’s friends forgot about him in prison, God was always with him (Genesis 39:21). That is, why it is very possible for men to forget about us and “move on” with their lives, God never moves on because He is omnipresent.

Today, God wants us to be reminded of His abiding presence even when we go through the most difficult ordeals in life (Isaiah 43:2).

HIS WAYS ARE UNIQUE

One of the root causes of weariness in humans during trying times stems from the urge to equate men with God. But thankfully, God’s ways are not the ways of men (Isaiah 55:8-9).

There are numerous characters of God that tend to reassure us of His promises. These attributes far outweigh those of men and include (for example):

  • His unwavering nature (James 1:17)
  • His trustworthiness (Numbers 23:19).
  • His sovereignty (Daniel 4:17).
  • His unforgetfulness (Isaiah 49:15)

These characters of God (and many more), make Him who He is. And that’s the more reason to solely depend on Him when we go through those difficult moments in life.

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

As Christians, we ought to be reminded of God’s promises to always stand by us no matter the kind of turbulence we go through in life (Isaiah 43:2).

We’re encouraged to be resolute in our faith in God and totally hope in Him to see us through those “light affliction” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

So, as you go through those momentarily difficulties, its important to ride on the hope of your Salvation through:

  • Always trusting in God with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5).
  • Reminding God about His promises (Isaiah 43:26).
  • Living according to His commandments (1 John 5:3).

May the Lord remember you today for good in Jesus’ mighty name. Happy new month!
