VICTORY OVER LIFE’S BATTLES

Dearly Beloved,

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. By the special grace of the almighty God, the theme for this month shall be VICTORY OVER LIFE’S BATTLES.

NO VICTORY WITHOUT A BATTLE

No one can claim to be victorious in life without a conquest experience of some sort. Interestingly, life is full of battles of unpredictable degrees, and no one is immune from them. The bible states this stark reality thus “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble” — Job 14:1. This therefore places the burden on man to figure out how to deal with life’s challenges as they come. In this month’s Pastoral Charge, we’ll shed some light on some principles for effective conquest.

SOME KEYS FOR EFFECTIVE CONQUEST

There are often tales of woe from people who have failed in one life’s battle or the other simply because they did not follow the principles below (there are many more):

1. Know your enemy: A battle is lost or won depending on the completeness of the facts you know about your enemy. For example, having very little or no information about your enemy could inadvertently lead to your defeat (Ezra 4:1-4, Ephesians 6:11-12).
2. Have a strategy: A lack of strategy in the place of battle could be a sign of weakness or ill preparation. So, after you’ve deciphered your enemies, it is important to devise ways of dealing with them (Proverbs 24:6, James 1:5, Ephesians 5:16).
3. Know the owner of ALL battles: It is foolhardy for man to assume conquest on their own terms. There’s need to recognize that God is the master of all battles and He holds the key to all victories (2 Chronicles 20:15, 1 Samuel 17:47, Proverbs 16:9, Exodus 23:22).

May you enjoy resounding victory in all spheres of life in this month of July in Jesus’ mighty name.
