CREATED FOR SUCH BUT …
Just as the saying goes, “a single tree cannot make a forest”. The saying alludes to the fact that as humans, we’re created to achieve more by working together.
Relationships are so crucial to achieving divine purpose in life. It is pertinent to also mention that God’s desire is for relationships to be beneficial to all the parties involved. This is akin to what Biologists refer to as a “symbiotic relationship”.
But unfortunately, the fall of man in the Garden of Eden impacted man’s ability to readily identify associations that are intrinsically Godly upon which divine relationships can ensue.
Consequently, the fallen nature of man imposes a limitation on the accuracy of his judgement when making relationship choices. Hence he has to ensure to always walk circumspectly in this regard.
THEY’RE DESTINY LEVERS
Regrettably, one of the reasons why so many humans don’t fulfill purpose in life is the absence of or inability to identify divine relationships.
As Christians, the onus is always on us to prayerfully seek God’s direction for divine helpers of our destinies and maintain such relationships (Psalms 121:1-2, Genesis 30:27).
One such character who understood the importance of maintaining a healthy divine relationship was David. Even though he had been anointed as king over Israel, yet he needed a Jonathan to help bring him closer to the throne of Saul (1 Samuel 18:3-4).
Beloved, it takes being sensitive in the Spirit of God to recognise divine relationships and to not walk away from them. No doubt there’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).
HOW TO GO ABOUT IT
Given the limitations imposed on mankind by sin, there’s therefore a need to be totally reliant on the Holy Spirit to work out divine relationships by following the steps below:
- Divinely locate them: This is the starting point of walking in divine relationships (Psalms 121:1-2).
- Invest in them: As in symbiosis, always ensure to invest in divine relationships (I Samuel 18:1-4).
- Access your investment with wisdom: You have no right of entitlement to their goodwill. Cautiously apply wisdom when making demands on your investment (Genesis 30:27).
- Honour them: Never bite the hand that fed you. Find opportunities to honour your divine helpers (2 Samuel 9:1)
May the Lord send you divine relationships today.
