LIFE HAPPENS …
“Life happens” is a common saying, acknowledging that certain occurrences lie beyond our control—they simply just happen. For instance, the loss of a loved one, sudden unemployment, or betrayal are all significant life events over which we have little influence.
However, our lives aren’t defined by the number of unfortunate events we experience, but rather by how we navigate and emerge from those episodes.
Consider Joshua, who was tasked with leading the nation of Israel following the demise of Moses. Stepping into his master’s shoes seemed impossible, yet he had to undertake it.
Joshua’s story demonstrates that while we cannot control life’s circumstances, we can control our response by staying strong and courageous.
DON’T GIVE UP
Beloved, no matter what difficult challenges we face in life, giving up is never an option.
That is, there are moments we must draw from our inner strength to cope with life’s challenges. We can do so as follows:
- First, we must remember that giving up is not an option. The Bible reminds us of the need to endure through the strength of Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:13),
- Second, we must realize that whatever happens to us is all part of God’s plan for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).
- Third, God permits both good and bad times (Ecclesiastes 7:14), but He will never allow a challenge greater than we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Beloved, are you currently going through a difficult phase in life?
KEEP HOPE ALIVE
Apostle Paul stated, “But one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Philippians 3:13).
This scripture encourages us to keep forging ahead through life’s difficult moments by:
- Ensuring we do not succumb to the enemy’s mind games just as Job did (Job 1:21-22)
- Filling ourselves with good thoughts of a better tomorrow through God’s Word (Isaiah 3:10)
- Surrounding ourselves with godly people who will encourage us through life’s challenges (Proverbs 27:17)
Beloved, as long as the earth remains, life’s challenges will always be with us. However, we must rise above them to fulfill God’s plans for our lives.
