GOD NEVER FORGETS
There are moments in life when it appears that God is so distant from us. Such moments can cause all kinds of thoughts to flood our minds and make us to even query the existence of God.
One Bible character that had a taste of this kind of life experience was Hannah who endured years of barrenness and mockery in her husband’s house (I Samuel 1:1-10). Yet, “… God remembered Hannah”.
Beloved, God’s faithfulness endears us to Him, and makes us unforgettable in His plans. God queried, “Can a mother forget her nursing child?”. “Though she may forget, I will not forget you” (Isaiah 49:15).
God reassured Moses, “I have seen the affliction of my people in Egypt and have heard their cry” (Exodus 3:7). Our conviction should be such that God always sees. He always remembers.
HE IS ALWAYS NEAR
For anyone who has been through life’s many challenges, there comes a time when the ultimate question concerning God’s faithfulness arises: how do we know God hasn’t forgotten us? Well, the answer lies in the pointers below:
- He walks with us through valleys. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4).
- He is always with us even in the dark moments of life. Joseph languished in prison, “but the LORD was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:21).
- His timing is perfect. God gave Pharaoh a dream to remember Joseph. “God remembered Hannah, and she conceived” (1 Samuel 1:19).
The above scriptures are a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
KEEP SEEKING HIM
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7).
This scripture is a reminder that while God is always nearer to us than we can ever imagine, the onus remains on us to continue to seek Him in our moments of difficulties.
Three keys to remain hopeful:
- Keep trusting His presence. He is nearer than you can imagine (Jeremiah 23:23)
- Keep staying faithful. Hannah’s faithfulness preceded her breakthrough.
- Pray persistently. “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). Your prayers rise like incense before God (Revelation 8:4).
May God’s book of remembrance be opened for you today. Happy new month!
