GOD’S SPECIAL VESSELS

BEYOND THE COMMON

No doubt some things in life are common. And as humans, we often tend to view life from the standpoint of the common experiences that we’ve acquired over the course of time.

That was the account of the lame beggar at the gate of the temple which was called Beautiful. All his life, he had become accustomed to receiving tokens of “silver” and “gold” from passers-by. No wonder his countenance was brightened the moment he saw Peter and John approach him (Acts 3:2-5).

But little did he know that there’s more to life than silver and gold. It was also a day he had to learn that there are special vessels God has reserved for Himself to dispense uncommon gifts to men. Thank God he was healed through the rarity of the uncommon anointing which Peter carried.

GOD HAS SPECIAL VESSELS

There’ no denying the fact that God has special vessels. The Bible gave account of two characters who learned this fact in a very hard way (Numbers 12:1-15).

Both Aaron and Miriam were no doubt qualified as priests due to the “Levite mandate” that God had bestowed upon them. But that mandate still didn’t stop God from specially choosing their blood brother, Moses, to operate at a much higher priestly order.

In fact, God Himself had to remind both of them about the uniqueness of the vessel that Moses represented thus “If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth” (Numbers 12:6-8 KJV).

DON’T ROB YOURSELF

We’re advised not be quick to dismiss God’s special vessels e.g. due to familiarity. The same attitude robbed many of their blessings in Jesus’ hometown because they only related with him as the son of the Carpenter (Matthew 13:55).

So then, how do we identify God’s special vessels and be blessed by them?

  • Test & Confirm: We’re encouraged to test every spirit to see if they are from God (I John 4:1).
  • Acknowledge & Yield: Once convinced in our spirit, we must acknowledge the rarity of the vessel and be willing to yield to the same.
  • Honour & Receive: We can only receive blessings from the vessels that we honour (Matthew 10:41a).

Beloved, find God’s special vessels today and be blessed.
