SEEK GODLY PROMOTION
We live in a promotion-obsessed world where success is highly celebrated. Therefore, many pursue promotion at any cost, even compromising their integrity and soul for temporary earthly gains (Mark 8:36).
It’s important to reinforce that true promotion originates from God alone (Psalm 75:6-7). Unlike worldly success that often corrupts, divine promotion brings wholeness and peace.
God’s promotions differ fundamentally from Satan’s counterfeits. While worldly success may demand moral compromise, God’s elevation preserves and enhances our spiritual virtues
As believers, we must seek promotions that honor God and develop Christ-like characters, trusting Him to elevate us in His perfect timing.
HOW GOD PROMOTES
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1) – confirms the fact that God controls all the parameters of success. His methods of promotion include e.g.:
- Through His Divine Authority: “He removes kings and raises up kings” (Daniel 2:21). God elevates some people and humbles others according to His purposes.
- Through Strategic Placement: He positioned Joseph to strategically guide Egypt through the years of famine (Genesis 41:1-45)
- Through Divine Announcement: He can also showcase His people to the world through the excellence of their works (Isaiah 60:3).
- Through the errors of others: The promotion of Esther was predicated on the errors of Vashti (Esther 1:12-21).
POSITION YOURSELF
While God delights in the promotions of His children, it is important to emphasize that He does not promote the lazy (Proverbs 13:4)
Below are some keys to divine promotion:
- Excel in whatever you do: Find your assignment and pursue excellence diligently (Proverbs 22:29).
- Add value before seeking reward and “Kings shall come to the brightness of your rising” (Isaiah 60:3).
- Work with godly ownership: Honor God through your work ethic, even when unsupervised (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
- Back your diligence with humility and watch God lift you up (James 4:10).
And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men (Colossians 3:23).
