New Year, Same God

His mercies are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. — Lamentations 3:23

Beyond the Resolution

Every January brings a rush of resolutions, fresh starts, and bold declarations. Gyms fill up. Journals are opened. Plans are made. And there is nothing wrong with any of that. But I want to anchor us in something more stable than a new calendar. The God who carried us through last year is the same God who goes before us now. His faithfulness is not seasonal. His commitment to you did not need a new year to be renewed — it was already in place.

The Gift of Starting Again

One of the most beautiful things about following Christ is that there is always a return path. No matter how last year ended — with triumph, with loss, with regret, or with exhaustion — you are not stuck there. His mercies are new every morning, and that means every morning is an invitation to begin again. Not from scratch — you carry with you everything God has built in you — but with fresh grace for a new chapter.

What to Carry Into This Year

Carry your faith — tested and proved. Carry your community — the people who stood with you. And carry the testimony of what God did, even when it was hard to see. What He has done is the foundation for what He will do. This year will have its own challenges, its own surprises, its own moments of grace. But you do not face them alone. The God of last year is the God of this one — and He is already in every day that lies ahead.

Step into this year with confidence — not in your plans, but in the One who holds them. He has never failed you, and He will not start now.
