PEACE, BE STILL

STORMS MAY ARISE

The Christian life is never guaranteed to be devoid of challenges. The Scripture supports this position thus “When thou passest through the waters …” (Isaiah 43:2 KJV). So, it’s only a matter of time before the Christian is confronted with the next challenge.

But the way the Christian responds to challenges is what differentiates him from unbelievers. Have you wondered why the Eagle rejoices through the storm? The answer is simple. The Eagle leverages the storm to gain ascendancy to higher altitudes. That’s exactly how every Christian ought to deal with the storms of life.

Unfortunately, riding through the storms of life can sometimes weigh down on Believers, even the anointed ones (1 Kings 19:4).

DO NOT BE AFRAID

Thankfully, Jesus Christ assures us of His promises to be with us when we go through the storms of life thus “…, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:2 KJV).

Staying calm through the storms can be sometimes tricky. The Scripture provides timeless spiritual panacea to help us through such challenging times and these include, for example:

  • Seeking direction out of the storm through the Word of God (Psalm 119:105).
  • Handing over the challenges to God through Praise & Worship (2 Chron. 20:20-22)
  • Overcoming anxiety through the power of Prayer (Phil. 4:6)

LOOK AFTER YOURSELF

It is also pertinent for Christians not to overlook the importance of physiological remedies when going through storms of life. The case of Elijah (1 Kings 19:1-8) underscores the importance of rest and proper dietary intake as a means to reinvigorate when going through challenges in life.

So a few important questions when going through the storms:

  • Are you getting sufficient rest through the storm?
  • Are you nourishing yourself with well-balanced diet through the storm?
  • Do you have at least someone you constantly share your burdens with?

May the Lord Jesus Christ still every storm in your life today and give you peace roundabout.
