Be still and know that I am God. — Psalm 46:10
There are seasons where we pray and feel nothing in return. No breakthrough, no sign, no word. I have been in those seasons, and I know many of you are there right now. The silence is not comfortable — it can feel like abandonment. But I want to challenge that feeling with a truth: silence is not absence. God is not a vending machine that responds on demand. He is a Father who sees further than we do, and sometimes His greatest gift is the pause before the answer.
The wilderness was not a punishment for Israel — it was a preparation. Forty years of what must have felt like silence shaped an entire generation for the Promised Land. When God is quiet, He is rarely inactive. He is working in you what could not be worked by instant answers: patience, trust, surrender. Do not fill the silence with doubt. Fill it with worship. The act of praising God when you feel nothing is one of the most powerful prayers you can offer.
The enemy's greatest goal in a season of silence is to get you to stop praying altogether. Do not give him that ground. Pray even when it feels hollow. Read the Word even when it feels dry. Show up even when the feeling has gone. Faith is not a feeling — it is a choice made daily in the face of uncertainty. God hears every word whispered in faith, and not one of them is wasted. Your prayers are building something you cannot yet see.
Keep talking to Him. Keep showing up. The silence will break — and when it does, you will see that He was listening all along.
